Living is Easy With eyes closed Misun-

is quite different from seeing a thing one
does not see anything until one sees its

As we all prepare to face the world we
can think back to the good times, friends,
and memorys. We have to hold the
memorys in our hearts and keep them
forever. I had a great time at north and
it is because of Great friends and My
girlfriend Katy, who "I love more than
anything, than anything I do" I hope to
see everyone sometime after school and
to the class of 2001 good luck and never
forget the memorys!

These 4 years have honestly been great,
but strange. Fond memories like essay
writing for Mr. DeMarco, "The Row" in
Mr. Bergman's class, and not being there
half the time. Also, I want to thank Mr.
Zheng for helping me so much with my
Chinese the past 4 years and for being
my favorite teacher. Not to forget are all
my friends and all the fun times being in
and running the Anime Club with

Hi my name is Dennis and I'm a senior
this year in North Quincy. I'm very
happy that this school has given me all
the academics that I need. I would like
the yearbook to have color. Also it should
list all the important events that our
school has had through this year.
Teachers pictures should be in there.
They are those who helped the seniors
succeed.

Ever since I was young, I've always
wanted to experience love- life- and
friendship, wondering what it would be
like. What will I learn and learn and
accomplish next. As a young girl I would
just imagine. Never knowing the
painted face that came along with it. As
I've grown up, I finally experienced what
I've been asking for; Love- Life- and
Friendship. I gained and lost friends,
got my heart broken and I lived through
it all. Forever innocent.

My 2 years at North Quincy High School
have been the best 2 years of my life. I
like to thank my teachers for unleashing
my potential; and my friends for showing
me how positive life can be. I judge a
person by their character, not their
achievements. Remember, a person's
spirit can be strong enough to make the
world stop for him. One's potential is
unlimited, only limited by oneself.

There have been many people who have

Hey! How's it going? Thank you for
reading this. You must be nice because
while you're reading this, I'll be making
millions selling records and endorsing
my line of fresh baked apple pies. I will
save the lives of Eskimos from the
treacherous winters of Alaska by
providing warmth to their igloos. I see a
bright future for myself... and I hope you
succeed too... but I'll be more successful.

Freshman Year History

And so our journey at North Quincy High School begins...

Raider rug introduces itself to the bottom of our pants, the ten-period

day becomes routine, and Mr. Owens helps us settle in.

The sweet melody of the Fire Alarms becomes a familiar sound,
McDonalds supplies us with some fine after school dining,
And we leave our first rally as victors over the sophomores.

We dance like animals at our very first homecoming, and a "Crazy for
You" semi.

The Clinton Scandal pervades the US as Abercrombie invades
NQHS.

NQ sports dominate with the hockey team, the girls' soccer team,
girls' volleyball team, girls' basketball team, and the boy's basketball
team making the tournament.

Mr. Chrisom ends his career in the gymnasium,
and ROTC begins a tradition with its first fall and spring encamp-
ment.

The drama club puts the ever-popular "Dawson's Creek" to shame
with its rendition of "Our Town".

In the world of Hollywood, "Good Will Hunting" makes stars out of
Bostonians Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Danger strikes in the form of the Spanish room fire-flood, and
the infamous birthday announcement scandal tarnishes our reputa-
tion.

By the end, Freshmen Year leaves us slightly smarter, experienced,
and ready for the summer.

Sophomore Year History

As Sophomores we are faced with our share of challenges:

In Sports, we enter the Turkey Day game against Quincy
with the odds against us, and leave as victors.

Students are taken hostage by the MCAS, but find
themselves outside the school more often than inside,
testing thanks to our numerous potential bombers. We are
grateful our scores do not count.

And many of us prepare to hit the roads with Drivers Ed.

But we don't forget how to have fun, we prove ourselves to be party
locos at our second Homecoming Dance and tropical Hawaiin Semi.

In the world of Academia,

Mrs. Feeney becomes principal and then retires.

Mr. Churwin retires from his teaching career,

And teachers stand up for their rights with a strike.

Meanwhile the Drama Club keeps its members working with
memorable productions of Anne Frank and Antigone.

And the Art Club makes an entrance into the world of NQ clubs by
creating a first place, award-winning Christmas float.

North Quincy is taken over by the harmonies of N'Sync, Backstreet

Boys and Britney Spears...

And American Pie creates a name for our generation. -

Junior Year History

By Junior Year we are ready to hit the roads with our newly acquired

licenses, but is the road ready for us?

Many are left wondering, "Who was listening at Drivers' Ed?"

Dangers abound within the school:

Just when we thought the bomb threats were over; a

lethal stage prop makes an appearance in Mrs. Mitchell's room.

And choir students fear for their lives when the choir room floods.

We spice up school life with 80's Dress Up Day and Spirit Week.

Tim Nelson spices up his own life by jumping into Walden Pond for the

impressive amount of $5.00.

The Art Club proves it is not a one time wonder with a second award
winning Christmas float, and many students enter the world of fine
arts through the Renaissance program.

NQ sports impress with the Girls Soccer Team making the tournament
and the Girls Volleyball Team becoming State Champions.

Students are submitted to the watchful stare of their new enforcers Mr.
Moffett and Mr. Ioanilli.

NQ also upholds its reputation outside of school,
ROTC drill team competes at Daytona Beach, Florida
And all the Patient Care Students pass the C.N.A. test.

We end our Junior Year by saying good-bye to Beverly Hills 90210 with
its final season, and begin to prepare for our Senior Year of the new

millennium.

Senior Year History

When asked to write the Senior History, we realized that the entire year is a blur.
It's extremely difficult for us to pinpoint single events that stand out. We could rant and
rave about the Senior Prom or the Senior Stay Out, but that would just follow the
hackneyed plot that many yearbooks take on to describe their senior year. We could go
on talking about other ordinary events that took place, such as the Homecoming Dance,
the new Valentine's Day Dance, The Battle of the Bands, and an arsenal of senior trips.
A history is usually written in order to reflect on everything that took place the previous
year, but on this day, May 24, 2001, senior sign out day, we have to question whether or
not we are ready to leave high school since it has all just happened so fast.

Take a few minutes right now to realize that a big part of your life has been
concluded; sit down and reminisce about your life as a high school student. The thoughts
that you have about starting over probably turn your stomach, but the experience you've
had, has made you grow stronger from it. We hope the four years that you spent here left
you with many friends or at least an acquaintance, whether you hung out in Squantum,
Wollaston, or your friend's basement. Wether you went out at night in search of
excitement or stayed at home as the evenings came and went, we all woke up every
morning and gathered in the hall, remembering when Andrea sang, "I Rule the World"
with Paul. Also remember sitting on the bridge hearing that the assist record was broken
by Casey Ridge. And just when you thought the season was close to the end, Ace Keddy,
at Adams, put one over the fence. Then there's the Art Crew led by Sarah Dufrane with
her funny jokes that made us go insane. The AP government class will always remember
its trip to Washington, D.C., and who knows what kind of politicians they'll turn out to
be? We know that Dean Zoia will be famous one day, as a talented musician he'll be
drumming away, and the long-legged Kellyrose will be cruising catwalks in New York
fashion shows. Next there's Peter Chan, who will achieve super stardom as the most
musically talented man. Let's not forget Rene Rolfe's assistance in all of the schools
plays; her expertise in theater has blown us away! Of course, Jen Conley, will be playing
basketball, jumping higher and higher with her personality setting the world on fire.
How exciting it will be to say we knew Matt Yohe, the world's most successful man; he'll
win a Nobel Peace Prize. We know he can. Who could forget the humorous, Nicole Worley
who will be a hit wherever she goes, surely. Undoubtedly, we will always remember the
"off-the-wall" dance moves of Adam Woo, bumping and grinding at school dances, and
doing the "worm" at our proms, too. The first Homecoming King should never be
forgotten; Paul Griffith is a legend and Student Council President, not to mention. We
certainly can't forget our Senior Class President, Roisin. Maybe she'll be the first woman
in the White House... we'll have to wait and see.

No matter where we go or what we become after graduation, June 4, 2001, we will
always remember the times we shared at North Quincy High School. We will hang onto
the lessons we learned, the hardships we have overcome, and the friendships we have
made that have shaped us over the past four years. So, just remember, "We part only to
meet again"

...WE'RE OUT!

We, the class of 2001, dedicate this yearbook to the loving, warm
spirit that both Mr. Papile and Mrs. Nolan projected at North
Quincy High School, in the community, and with their families.

Louise Nolan was a compassionate, caring individual who loved working with "her
tudents" at North. The most memorable thing about Louise was her beautiful smile and
ler ability to laugh heartily even at herself. Louise Nolan was married to Paul Nolan for
wenty-seven years, and was the mother of four... Doug, Jenna, Brian, and Brianna. We
hall all miss Mrs. Nolan greatly at North Quincy High School.

ob Papile, a Technology Education teacher at North Quincy High School, died suddenly
the fall of 2000. Loved by all- students, teachers, and the young men and women he
ached through the years, "Pap" was married to Ellie Papile and was the father of
arisa, Anthony, and Elena. We shall all miss Mr. Papile greatly at North Quincy High

Editors Page

A 6-foot three-dimensional, cardboard turkey, three sky-high, fluorescent palm trees, a
10-foot long sponge painted 2001 sign for the pride rally, a paper-mache Yakoo the size of a
human, three cardboard NQ cheerleaders, a 30-foot seniority sign to cover the second floor
bridge, life-size dummies dressed as Quincy presidents covered in red raider colors, and a 60
foot tall mural of the Yakoo.

If you asked us why after all of these "out of control projects" we took on the monstrous
task of being the editors of the 2001 yearbook, we wouldn't be able to answer you. All we could
say is that we wanted our classmates to have one of the best yearbooks to ever have been done
in North Quincy High School. We wanted to design a yearbook that would give an innovative,
accurate and diverse account of the past four years. Our attempt at such a book may not have
been perfect and may have caused much stress, but we gave it our best shot.

The nightmare started last April... we sat at Barnes & Nobles going through book after
book searching for layout ideas, drawing sketches of the pages and discussing the theme and
style of this book. Over a year later, and an unbearable number all-nighters, a handful of
nervous breakdowns, possibly over a hundred heated discussions, and with too many caffeinated
beverages behind us, we sit again in the Barnes and Nobles' Starbucks cafe writing this editor's
page. And as usual, writing this page is a last minute scenario and the result of expert
procrastination. So, if this page seems rushed or slightly ambiguous, we apologize. But that's
besides the point, the reason we are writing this page is to give you a brief account of the making
of the 2001 yearbook and the experiences we had a long the way. For starters, we pulled our first
all-nighter last April designing the layout for the entire yearbook. And, when you were all out
enjoying your summer nights, we were out (at Kinko's) making photo-copies of demonstration
layouts to show you at the first yearbook meeting. But we don't hold any grudges, which is why
we continued to slave over the yearbook. We pleaded with the Principal, Vice Principal, and
Yearbook Advisors for our class' rights to have personalized bios and dealt with a handful of
mishaps with the photography studio (they just couldn't seem to take pictures vertically). And
when we thought the worst of the yearbook traumas were behind us, once again we forfeited
sleep to run around the city of Quincy finding wedding dresses, clown wigs, and devil horns for
our Superlative pages. Then, in May, we were under the pressure of completing a hundred page
deadline, while also having to finish school projects, papers, and homework assignments needed
to graduate. And when May 24 rolled around, and most seniors were signing out we were in
the school every day for over a week cropping photos, designing layouts, arguing with yearbook
advisors, and like always, not sleeping. Now it's June 14 and we still have not put the nightmare
to rest. . .we have to finish this editor's page. The yearbook is being sent out in less than an hour,
and we are staring at the computer screen, tired, exhausted, fed up, and done.

Before we finish this trying page we have a few people to thank; Paul "the Messiah" Garvey
thank you so much, without you this yearbook would be a technical disaster, Chris Johnson for
typing in the senior bios, and Lori DeLucia for writing the ever-so-clever freshman, sophomore,
and junior histories. Most of all we would like to thank our families for all the support over the
hectic past four years. . .you've saved us again and again! On that note (and we never thought
we would be able to say this)... we are finally finished! Hope you enjoy.
